During a cold morning in London in September 2020, I woke up with no energy or motivation to do anything after months of lockdown measures and working from home. Despite all these feelings, this was the day that I stumbled upon the podcast and the voice that will become an integral part of my every working day. The podcast has given and continues to give me a reason to wake up and has a good start to the day.
I love listening to podcasts especially the ones that broke away from years of boring radio talk shows that go on forever with countless ads and irrelevant songs. During the summer of 2020, I was desperately looking for a podcast that focuses on financial markets and the economy which is not overwhelmingly technical.
During that morning and while I was preparing my breakfast, I listened intently to a young deep masculine voice from the Financial Times talking about the S&P500 and other financial news. I still remember the energy, enthusiasm, and warmth in that voice. Most importantly, the topics discussed, and the news presented were easier to digest. I looked the voice up. His name is Marc Filipino, an Audio Producer based in New York, USA. He works for the Financial Times and is the presenter of the podcast: FT News Briefing.

Since then, I have listened to all the podcasts without failure. The FT News Briefing helped me massively to stay abreast with the latest markets and financial news.
After one year, I was lucky enough to get noticed by the FT News Briefing presenter after tweeting a question to him asking about the relationship between population growth and economic growth. Marc reached out to me directly and asked if I will be interested to have the question asked and answered to in his podcast. I did not hesitate for a moment. I was thrilled. Marc kept his words. He sent me instructions on how to record my voice, I sent the recording back to him and with no further delay, I was part of my favorite podcast.
I think the podcast is improving every day and has come a long way since the first time I listened to it. I still listen to every podcast every single working morning, and I hope that it will continue to have a positive impact on more people in the years to come.
This is the link to the podcast and its transcript that I was part of back in October 2021. I am humbled by Marc's initiative to include me in his successful podcast. It is worth mentioning that at the end of 2021, the FT News Briefing has won a Gold Lovie and a People’s Lovie in the Podcasts: News & Politics category.
Thank you Marc, again!
